Characterizing violin top plate using sounds generated by local taps

چکیده

We analyzed the characteristics of sounds generated by local taps on a violin top plate. examined gravitational center frequency spectrum tapping and investigated its distribution over The results showed that three categories violins, with two violins in each category, had similar within categories. plates made after 19th century northern Italy high centroid around f-holes, tops older Italian before 18th only chin rest area, which was probably due to repeated coating varnish. In addition, adjusted thickness wood even out pitch entire plate frequencies small variability plates, old except area. These indicate can be characterized sound plate, suggest an effective means adjusting wood, especially early century.

Score Level Timbre Transformations of Violin Sounds

The ability of a sound synthesizer to provide realistic sounds depends to a great extent on the availability of expressive controls. One of the most important expressive features a user of the synthesizer would desire to have control of, is timbre. Timbre is a complex concept related to many musical indications in a score such as dynamics, accents, hand position, string played, or even indicati...

TOP LOCAL COHOMOLOGY AND TOP FORMAL LOCAL COHOMOLOGY MODULES WITH SPECIFIED ATTACHED PRIMES

Let (R,m) be a Noetherian local ring, M be a finitely generated R-module of dimension n and a be an ideal of R. In this paper, generalizing the main results of Dibaei and Jafari [3] and Rezaei [8], we will show that if T is a subset of AsshR M, then there exists an ideal a of R such that AttR Hna (M)=T. As an application, we give some relationships between top local cohomology modules and top f...

Characterizing speaker variability using spectral envelopes of vowel sounds

In this paper, we present a study to understand the relation among spectra of speakers enunciating the same sound and investigate the issue of uniform versus non-uniform scaling. There is a lot of interest in understanding this relation as speaker variability is a major source of concern in many applications including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR). Using dynamic programming, we find mappin...

evaluation of watermelon ripeness by analyzing sounds generated from imposed impact

one of the nondestructive methods for assessing the internal quality of some fruits is the processing and analyzing the sound signals generated by an impact on the fruit. in this regard determining the location and the suitable impact levels for a certain fruit is required. in this study, the selected crimson sweet variety of watermelon was used for the acoustic tests by imposing the impact for...

Characterizing Adversarial Subspaces Using Local Intrinsic Dimensionality

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have recently been shown to be vulnerable against adversarial examples, which are carefully crafted instances that can mislead DNNs to make errors during prediction. To better understand such attacks, a characterization is needed of the properties of regions (the so-called ‘adversarial subspaces’) in which adversarial examples lie. We tackle this challenge by charact...
